LSAC is a proud founding member of ICALLD, the International Consortium of Academic Language and Learning Developers. ICALLD is a global community of higher education practitioners working to enhance students’ learning and academic literacies. Its member organizations are from all around the world: Canada, the United Kingdom, Scotland, South Africa, Australia, and New Zealand.
The consortium’s establishment was based on shared values and objectives across organizations, which include:
- support for the professional identity of practitioners working in the field of academic language and learning development
- the facilitation of professional development opportunities for members
- the encouragement and sponsorship of research, including collaborative research, in the field of academic language and learning development.
The publication and dissemination of papers and resources to underpin the theory and practice of academic language and learning development.
